RAILFREIGHT METALS CLASS 37/5 MODEL LAUNCHED

'Hartlepool Pipe Mill' is to join the ranks of the exclusive RAIL EXPRESS special edition models. If you want one though, make sure you hurry!

RAIL EXPRESS Modeller entered into a special arrangement earlier this year with Bachmann that is to see the 'OO' gauge Class 37 model provided with a new nose, roof and improved detail to represent the refurbished former split-headcode box machines. The incredible demand for RAIL EXPRESS Magazine's first two 'Thornaby specials' and Direct Rail Services 'twin-packs', plus constant requests for other models of this type has resulted in a further loco being commissioned.

Railfreight Metals sub-sector, probably the livery most synonymous with the type, will feature on the new item which will will represent Thornaby's No. 37507 Hartlepool Pipe Mill in ex-works condition not long after it was named in December 1987.

The model will come with etched nameplates and special certificate. Price will be £74.95 each including P&P. However, a special £5.00 DISCOUNT is being made available to purchasers of the original twin packs if ordered before June 13th, 2008

The original twin packs, Nos. 37501+37502 plus Nos. 37510+37688, are still available for a limited time only and new orders are being accepted as qualifying for discount. SWD/ESU Mk.4 sound chips (one per model limit) are also offered as part of the deal at £79.99 each.

Those who have already reserved Class 37/5s and who wish to place an 'add-on' for this locomotive can call on 01780 470086 (office hours only please) or e-mail instructions to admin@railexpress.co.uk.

As the order quantity will be speculative - in view of the tight production timescale - interested parties are urged to place their orders as soon as possible to avoid missing out on what will not only be a superb model but a valuable collectors item as well. Delivery is expected this autumn.

There is a slim chance that 37116 could be used instead of the 31 if the weather is inclement.
